Transport Related Social Exclusion Risk

Back to Resource Hub
DatasetsInclusion and accessibility

What is it?
A dataset showing the level of risk of transport-related social exclusion across different areas. It combines access to everyday places, such as jobs, shops and services, with measures of vulnerability to identify where people may be most at risk.

How is it useful?
Use it to identify communities with poor access to opportunities and higher risk of exclusion. It helps you target investment where it can have the greatest impact, support inclusive transport planning and prioritise areas for improved access. It can also strengthen the evidence base for local strategies and funding bids focused on accessibility.

Limitations

TRSE risk classifies small areas by their level of risk, based on access and vulnerability conditions. Because it is an area-based classification of risk, it cannot be used to identify if specific individuals or households face social exclusion at specific points in time.
