Transport-Related Social Exclusion (TRSE) Visualiser
Back to Resource HubWhat is it?
The Transport‑Related Social Exclusion (TRSE) Visualiser shows how the risk of being cut off from everyday opportunities varies across England. It combines two things: how easy it is to reach key places (like work, education, healthcare and shops) using available transport, and how vulnerable local populations are to exclusion, using indicators such as low income, disability, caring responsibilities and poor health. You can compare neighbourhoods with their combined authority, local authority, or England as a whole.
How is it useful?
Use the tool to identify the places and communities most at risk of transport‑related social exclusion and track change over time. It helps local authorities, transport bodies and researchers target investment and service improvements where they will have the biggest impact.
