Primary Substation Energy Headroom - Current

Back to Resource Hub
DatasetsDecarbonisation

What is it?
A dataset showing current spare energy capacity at primary substations. It uses a simple Red, Amber, Green (RAG) rating to indicate how much headroom is available across the network.

How is it useful?
Use it to identify where there is capacity to support new demand. It helps you pinpoint suitable locations for EV charging, assess network constraints early, and align energy and transport planning. It can support local EV rollout plans, target investment, and provide evidence for funding bids and infrastructure decisions.
