Pavement and Road Widths

DatasetsRoadDecarbonisation

What is it?
A dataset showing pavement and road widths measured every 6 metres, using Ordnance Survey data. It includes Red, Amber, Green (RAG) ratings to indicate how suitable streets may be for EV charging infrastructure.

How is it useful?
Use it to identify streets where there is enough space for chargepoints while maintaining safe access for pedestrians and vehicles. It helps you assess physical constraints early, shortlist viable locations, and support consistent decisions on EV infrastructure. As data is sampled at intervals, local checks are needed to confirm conditions on site.

Limitations

Widths are only taken every 6 metres meaning sudden changes in pavement or road widths between the measurements will not be well captured. Local knowledge will still be required before final decisions are made using this data.
