What is it?
The Common Analytical Framework (CAF) Toolkit is a reusable Python toolkit for transport modelling and appraisal. It provides a set of standard, well‑tested functions for tasks such as handling matrices, running models efficiently, managing configurations and logging results. The toolkit is part of the wider CAF collaboration, which aims to make commonly used transport analysis tools more accessible across the UK.

How is it useful?
The toolkit helps transport planners and modellers build, run and maintain models more efficiently and consistently. By using shared tools and methods, it improves the quality and comparability of analysis, reduces duplication of effort and supports robust evidence for local decision‑making, appraisals and funding business cases.
