Common Analytical Framework (CAF) Base

What is it?
CAF Base is a Python package that provides shared building blocks used across Common Analytical Framework (CAF) tools. It includes standard definitions, such as zone systems and segmentations, and common data structures like DVectors. These are used to store and work with transport data, including trip ends and land use.
How is it useful?
CAF Base helps combined and local authorities use consistent data formats across models and tools. This makes analysis clearer, reduces duplication and supports better modelling and evidence for local decision‑making and funding business cases. It builds on work from NorMITs Demand, making proven approaches easier to use and more widely available.
